PDF to PNG in 3 steps

  1. Choose the PDF you want as images.
  2. Pick a quality: Small (72 DPI), Normal (144 DPI) or High (216 DPI).
  3. Press "Convert to PNG" and download one PNG, or a ZIP if there are several pages.

When PNG is the better choice

  • Clean edges around letters

JPG leaves faint smudges around text and thin lines. PNG keeps every edge clean, which you notice on documents, charts and slides.

  • Ready for slides and docs

Put a page into PowerPoint, Google Slides, Notion or a design tool at the resolution you chose.

  • Reports stay on your computer

Your own browser draws the pages of a contract or report as images. The PDF isn’t uploaded anywhere.

  • The whole document in one go

There’s no page limit. Every page becomes its own numbered PNG, and they all come in one ZIP.

Questions about PDF to PNG

Should I choose PNG or JPG?

Choose PNG for pages with text, tables, diagrams or slides, because the edges stay sharp. For pages that are mostly photos, JPG makes much smaller files. For those, use PDF to JPG.

Which quality should I pick?

Normal (144 DPI) works well for screens, documents and slides. Small (72 DPI) gives light images for quick previews. High (216 DPI) keeps tiny print readable when you zoom in or print, but the files are bigger.

How many pixels will each image have?

That depends on the page size and the quality. An A4 page comes out at about 595 × 842 px on Small, 1190 × 1684 px on Normal and 1786 × 2526 px on High. A US Letter page is a little wider and shorter.

Can I convert just one page?

This tool converts every page. For a single page, take it out first with Split PDF, then convert the new one-page file here. You’ll get one PNG and no ZIP.

Why are the PNGs larger than JPGs would be?

PNG is lossless. It stores every pixel exactly instead of approximating, which is what keeps text sharp. The cost is a bigger file, especially for pages full of photos.

Can I convert a password-protected PDF?

Not yet. Open the file with its password, save a copy without the password, then add that copy here. If you add an encrypted file, you’ll get a clear message rather than a silent failure.
