Worth knowing

  • Faces don’t get stretched

"Keep aspect ratio" is on from the start, so the picture gets smaller or bigger without being squashed.

  • The format stays the same

A JPG comes back as a JPG, a PNG as a PNG (with its transparency), and a WebP as a WebP.

  • Nobody else sees your photos

The resizing is done by your browser. Your pictures aren’t uploaded or stored on a server.

  • Lots of images, no cost

Resize many images in one go and use it as often as you like, with no account needed. It works on a phone as well as a computer.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between pixels and KB?

Pixels are the dimensions, meaning how wide and tall the image is, for example 1080 × 1350. KB is the file size, meaning how much space it takes. This tool changes the pixels. A smaller image usually means a smaller file too, but if you have to get under a specific KB limit, use Compress Image.

How do I resize a photo for Instagram, a profile picture or a form?

Find out the size the platform or form asks for, then type that width and height here. If that shape is different from your photo, match one side and let the other follow. You can turn off "keep aspect ratio" to enter both sides, but the photo will look a bit stretched.

Can I make an image bigger?

Yes, but enlarging can’t create detail that wasn’t there. The image gets more pixels, but it will look softer or blurry, and you’ll notice it most at two or three times the original size.

What does "keep aspect ratio" do?

It keeps the original proportion between width and height, so when you change one side the other is worked out for you. If you turn it off, you can set both sides freely, but the image may look stretched.

Can I resize images on my phone?

Yes. Open this page in your phone’s browser, tap "Choose files" and pick your photos. JPG, PNG and WebP are supported. iPhone’s HEIC format isn’t supported yet.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Your browser resizes them on your own device, so they don’t reach our servers. Nothing is kept after you close the page.
