PNG to JPG in 3 steps

  1. Select one PNG or a whole set of them.
  2. Press "Convert to JPG". Any transparent areas are filled with white.
  3. Save the JPG. A set of files downloads as one ZIP.

What you get

  • Often several times smaller

A photo saved as PNG usually gets much smaller as a JPG at 92% quality, and on screen you won’t see a difference.

  • Fits "JPG only" forms

Job portals, government sites and print shops that ask for JPG will take the converted file.

  • Screenshots stay private

Screenshots often show chats, banking apps or home addresses. They’re converted in your browser, so none of that is uploaded.

  • A folder at a time

Drop up to fifty screenshots and get fifty JPGs back in one ZIP. You don’t need an account.

PNG to JPG questions

Why is my PNG file so large?

PNG is lossless, which means it records every pixel exactly. That’s ideal for flat graphics. Photos and photo-like screenshots, though, have millions of slightly different pixels, so the file gets big. JPG is made for photos and drops detail your eye barely notices.

What happens to the transparent background?

JPG can’t store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. If the background needs to stay see-through, keep the PNG or use PNG to WebP instead.

Should I convert screenshots full of text?

It depends. JPG can leave faint smudges around sharp text and thin lines. For a screenshot that’s mostly a photo, JPG works well. For a code snippet or a spreadsheet, PNG often looks sharper and is sometimes even smaller.

What quality is the JPG saved at?

About 92%. That keeps photos looking like the original while cutting the file size. If you need to get under a specific limit like 200 KB, run the result through Compress Image afterwards.

Can I convert PNG to JPG on my iPhone or Android?

Yes. Open this page in your browser, tap "Choose files", pick the PNG screenshots from your gallery and download the JPGs. You don’t need to install an app.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The browser on your device does the conversion, so nothing reaches our servers. When you close the tab, the images are cleared from memory.
