TIFF to JPG in 3 steps

  1. Add the .tif or .tiff files from your scanner folder or camera card.
  2. Click "Convert to JPG". Each image is saved again at about 92% quality.
  3. Download the JPGs. A batch of scans comes as one ZIP.

Why turn scans into JPG

  • Megabytes become kilobytes

An uncompressed A4 scan can be over 25 MB as a TIFF. As a JPG it often ends up well under 2 MB.

  • Opens on any phone

iPhone and Android galleries, WhatsApp and most web forms don’t show TIFF. A JPG opens for everyone.

  • Your scanned papers stay with you

Scanned IDs, contracts and medical papers are converted in your browser. They don’t go through our servers.

  • A whole scan folder at once

Drop a stack of TIFFs from the office scanner and get them all back as JPGs. There’s no daily cap.

TIFF to JPG questions

Why do I have TIFF files in the first place?

Scanners, fax software, print shops and some professional cameras save TIFF because it keeps every detail. That’s great for archiving and printing, but awkward for email, phones and web uploads.

My TIFF has several pages. What happens?

Only the first page becomes a JPG, because a JPG holds a single image. For a multi-page scan like a contract, make a document with TIFF to PDF instead, adding the pages as separate TIFFs.

Will I lose quality?

At about 92% quality, a JPG of a photo or scanned page looks the same to the eye. It’s still a lossy format, so keep the original TIFF if you might need to reprint at full quality.

Why do the colours look a little different?

Print-shop TIFFs are often CMYK, and some scanners save 16 bits per channel. Browsers turn both into standard 8-bit RGB for screens, so very saturated colours or soft gradients can shift slightly.

How much smaller will the file be?

It depends on the picture, but uncompressed TIFF scans often drop to a tenth of their size or less. If a form needs it even smaller, run it through Compress Image afterwards.

Can it handle very large TIFFs?

Yes, up to 50 MB per file. Big files like poster scans take a few seconds longer and are easier on a computer than on a phone.
